The final night of Kilkenny Rugby clubs popular teen tag social tournament went ahead last Wednesday, 11th August, in excellent conditions at Foulkstown.
The tournament run by the under 19s with assistance from Mick McGrath and Brendan Hewitt provides players with a rugby outlet during the summer and allow them to hone their evasion skills , handling and ball skills all in a social setting.
Six matches were played and in the end the skillful Simon O'Sheas 'Props' team won out by one point in a thrilling final against Denis Hogans "- Flash- ers" team. In the shield final Emmett Lynchs "who me" side just pipped Ronne Moran's team.
Afterwards all the players were treated to represhments provided by the under 19 side.
Training has recommenced for under 19s and 17s. Club legend and ex-Kiwi provincial player simon Manuel will take the under 17s side for a ball handling session on Thursday 7.30 sharp . New players welcome to come along on the night.
